WELCOME TO PRIMETIME RUNNING AT THE PACERS ATHLETIC CENTER
Primetime Running is a brand new Cross Country and Running Program for young athletes on the northside! We are excited to bring this program to the Pacers Athletic Center at Grand Park and continue to provide excellent sports and training opportunities to the area! Primetime Running will include a variety of running programs throughout the year!
Our Youth 8 week program is intended for kids who want to get introduced into running but aren’t old enough to run for a middle school program. This program is for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. We will meet three times per week – twice in the evenings and once on the weekend. Each practice will last 60 minutes and will include stretching, agility/form drills, body weight strength training, running games, and some endurance running. While our home base and inclement weather location will be the Pacers Athletic Center, we will sometimes meet at Cool Creek park or MacGregor Park. This 8 week program is great for parents looking to expose their child to a structured, yet fun, program. We will be competing in IYTA’s cross country season, which right now has meets scheduled for October 3rd, October 10th, and November 7th. We will host internal team time trails to fill in the gaps between meets. IYTA meets cost $5 per child and are not included in your child’s registration. The races will be 2km (1.24mi) or 3km (1.86mi) depending on your child’s age, and we will methodically build your child up to this distance if they aren’t able to make it that far now.
